Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh (1987), Chowdhury creates narrative oil paintings that move between uncanny realism and saturated, hypnotic stylization, dissolving the boundaries between physical and metaphysical reality. His practice integrates Islamic architecture, William Blake's poetry, tarot, and the Western occult tradition into a single, ongoing cosmology. Within this framework, recurring imagery—such as cherry blossoms, family members, angels, and archaic sigils—operates as a deeply personal symbolic vocabulary.

Chowdhury is represented by P·P·O·W (New York) and Ciaccia Levi (Paris). His work has been the subject of major solo exhibitions internationally, including Cycled Through the Wildflower Arcana at The FLAG Art Foundation (2025), Tapestry at P·P·O·W (2024), Same Old Song at the Frye Art Museum (2022), A Still Life at Ciaccia Levi (2021), and Dandelion Song at Foxy Production (2021). He has also participated in group exhibitions at François Ghebaly, Jessica Silverman, Adler Beatty, and Chapter NY.

His paintings have been reviewed widely in publications including Artforum, The New Yorker, Art in America, Frieze, Spike, and the Los Angeles Times. He holds an MFA from Otis College of Art and Design and a BFA from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
